Uses

Young shoots and inflorescences are eaten after boiling as a vegetable (notes of many collectors). Fruits edible.

Notes

Melientha suavis subsp. suavis varies considerably in leaf characters. The apex of the leaves is often obtuse-mucronulate but more or less acuminate leaves are to be found at several points of the range of the subspecies.
