Description

Trees to 25 m tall, the young branches densely brown lanate and pilose, lenticellate. Leaves rigidly coriaceous, elliptic, 9-21 by 6.5-12 cm, glabrous and shiny above when mature, lanate when young, with conspicuous stomatal crypts filled by lanate pubescence beneath, broadly apiculate at apex, rounded to broadly subcuneate at base; Stipules caducous (not seen). Inflorescences of axillary little branched small panicles or racemes, to 3 cm long, the rachis and branches densely appressed tomentellous; Fruit ellipsoid, c. 4 by 6 cm diam.;
