Description
Less slender.
Leaves stiffer and paler, 1-1½ mm wide.
Inflorescence usually ampler, compound or sub- decompound, rarely simple, with up to 20 spikelets.
Distribution
Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present), Bukit Takun near Kanching present, Gua Teja present, Gunong Baling present, Gunong Senyum present, Kedah present, Kelantan present, Pahang present, Peninsular Thailand present, Pulu Langkawi present, Selangor present
Peninsular Thailand; in Malesia: Malay Peninsula (Kedah: Pulu Langkawi, Gunong Baling; Kelantan: Gua Teja, Pahang: Gunong Senyum; Selangor: Bukit Takun near Kanching).
Notes
The Pulu Langkawi specimens of this variety have densely pubescent stems and leaves, the others are glabrous. In the specimens from Pahang (summit of Gunung Senyum, 1600 ft) the spikelets are somewhat larger than in the others, the nuts slightly broader (4/5 mm), and the appendage of the connective is smooth.
