Description

Tree, 10—15(—30) m high. Leaves: petiole 1.5-2.5 cm; blade lanceolate, lanceolate-ovate or elliptic-oblong, 5-12 by 1.5-4 cm, margin entire, base acute, apex acute to acuminate, glabrous on both sides. Inflorescence paniculoid, composed of dense, much branched cymes. Stamens exserted, filaments inserted below throat, pubescent, woolly at base, anthers sagittate. Ovary: style deeply bifid. Fruit enclosed by persistent corolla and calyx.
