Description

Tree up to 30 m tall. Leaves distichous; stipules 0.5-1 cm long, sparsely appressedly brownish to whitish puberulous, caducous. flowers 2-10; stamens c. 2 mm long, anthers c. 0.5 mm long; ovary c. 1 mm long, style 1-2 mm long, stigmas 2-3.5 mm long;

Borneo (Sarawak), Philippines (Luzon, Samar, Mindanao, Palawan), Celebes, Lesser Sunda Islands (Sumba, Flores), Moluccas (Halmahera), New Guinea (also Yapen and New Britain).

Uses

Young leaves are cooked and eaten; wood is used for house building.
