Chisocheton mendozae

Description

Tree c. 9 m tall; bole to 25 cm diam. Leaves to at least 20 cm, with large densely tomentose pseudogemmula; petiole 7–8 cm. Petals 5, c. 18 mm long, oblong spathulate, sericeous without, glabrous within, fleshy, 3 valvate, 1 ± enclosed, 1 enclosed. Staminal tube pilose without to halfway up lobes, pubescent within to just beneath anthers, margin 5-lobed, each lobe 3 mm long, entire; anthers 5, c. 3 mm long, narrowly oblong, locellate, subbasally attached. Capsule and seeds unknown.
