Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Jawa (Jawa present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Philippines (Philippines present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Indochina to W Malesia present

Uses

Ashes are rubbed over the body to cure spleen disease (Burkill & Haniff SF 13618).

Notes

3. Sometimes noted as inhabited by termites. 2. All sporangia, together with the paraphyses, dehisce simultaneously, and are shed in thick tufts of golden-brown fluff. 1 One of the most striking epiphytes of the area, also very common in gardens.
