Optionally transferred to a segregate genus, Schedonorus (Foggi & al. 2005) or united on phylogenetic grounds with Lolium, respectively (Banfi & al. 2017). For this and other members of Festuca concerned, see Appendix II. Preference for a conservative circumscription of Festuca is given here as long as the delimitation of Lolium against the broad-leaved Festuca s.l. clade is debatable (Columbus & Smith 2010).
