Notes

The original description contains no reference to the fact that the species was described from a cultivated plant, the citation being 'Am- boina, J. J. Smith'; the type specimens in Herb. Bog. bear no reference to J. J. Smith, but only the location of the plant in the garden. J. J. Smith went to Ambon in 1900 (with Boerlage), and brought back many plants for cultivation at Bogor. The name annae commemorates Mrs Smith.
