Description
Trees, treelets, or shrubs.
Hairs at the base of the ovaries and stamens mostly absent.
Leaves sometimes palmately lobed to fid when juvenile.
Distribution
Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present)
This subsection comprises 13 species, most of them are confined to Borneo, only F. aurata extends to Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, and Indochina. The subsection is quite homogeneous.
Taxonomy
Ficus diamantiphylla Corner differs from the other species in its red-coloured tepals.
