Ficus

Description

Tree up to 30 m tall, deciduous. internal hairs abundant, yellowish. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 0.5-0.8 cm long, brown (or yellowish) subtomentose to subsericeous (near the margins often glabrous), caducous.

Ambon present, Aru Islands present, Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Jawa (Jawa present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Maluku (Maluku present); New Guinea present; Philippines (Philippines present); Sulawesi (Sulawesi present); Sumatera (Sumatera present); Thailand (Thailand present), Banka present, Ceram present, Luzon present, Morotai present, Palawan present, Riouw Archipelago present, Sula Islands present
Thailand; in Malesia: Malay Peninsula, Sumatra (incl. Riouw Archipelago and Banka), Java, Borneo, Philippines (Luzon, Palawan), Celebes, Moluccas (Morotai, Sula Islands, Ceram, Ambon, Aru Islands), New Guinea.

Morphology

The species is rather variable with regard to the denseness of the indumentum on the lower leaf surface; material from Borneo, Celebes and New Guinea has laminas with densely subtomentose lower surfaces.
