Castanopsis endertii

Description

Tree, 15-20 m by 25-60 cm ø. Branchlets initially with a dense stellate tomentum, soon glabres-cent, inconspicuously lenticellate; Leaves thick-coriaceous, elliptic-oblong, (8-) 10-15(-19) by (3½-) 5-6(-7) cm, entire; Stipules linear, acute, c. 5 by 1 mm, soon caducous. Fruit solitary.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Kalimantan present), W. Kutei present
Malesia: Borneo (two collections from W. Kutei in Kalimantan).

Notes

The female flowering rachis is not yet collected.
