Vatica havilandii

Description

Young twig, raceme, leaf bud, stipule, and petiole densely persistently deep fulvous-brown flocculent tomentose; Leaves 8-17 by 2.5-5 cm, narrowly oblong to obovate; Stipule to 12 by 2.5 mm, linear, caducous. Panicle to 8 cm long, terminal or axillary, terete, singly branched.

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Brunei present); Malaya present, Kapuas valley present, Pahang present, Perak present, Sandakan area present, Trengganu present, W. and Central Sarawak present
Malesia: Malaya (Perak, Pahang, Trengganu), Borneo (Kapuas valley, W. and Central Sarawak, Brunei, Sandakan area).

Notes

This and the following species share with V. venulosa a very distinctive calyx and thus form a well defined group within the genus.
