Description

Tree up to 40 m tall, sometimes with buttresses, evergreen. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules fully amplexicaul, 1-5(-8) cm long, whitish to brownish appressedly puberulous, towards the apex brownish subsericeous, or glabrous, caducous. flowers often intermixed with 0.3-0.6 mm long subulate processes. flowers intermixed with 1-2 mm long subulate processes or with peltate bracts, the apical part 0.2-0.3(-1) mm diameter. stamen 1-2 mm long, anther c. 0.5 mm long; fruits ellipsoid, c. 0.7 (?) cm long.

Taxonomy

The species can be subdivided into two disjunct subspecies.
