Dipterocarpus perakensis

Description

Large tree. Parts glabrous but for the cream puberulent ovary apex. Leaves 4-7 by 8-13 cm, elliptic, coriaceous; Flowers and inflorescences unknown.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya present, Dindings present, Pangkor I present, Penang hill present
Malesia: Malaya (Penang hill, Dindings, Pangkor I.).

Notes

This species is a segregate from D. eurynchus Miq. and D. costatus Gaertn.f., clearly distinguished by the relatively broad wings on the fruit calyx tube and conspicuous lack of tomentum.
