Description

Large tree. Parts of petals exposed in bud, inside of stipules and ovary apex densely silky cream pubescent, parts otherwise glabrous. Leaves 8-13 by 3.3-7 cm, ± broadly elliptic, coriaceous, drying dark chocolate-brown; Inflorescence to 8 cm long, singly branched or unbranched, bearing up to 5 flowers. Stamens c. 30, exceeding style at anthesis;

Andamans, Burma, Peninsular Thailand and in Malesia: Malaya (Malacca and Pahang northwards, coastal towards south of range), Sumatra (Indragiri), N. Borneo (Sandakan area), Philippines.
