Dipterocarpus applanatus

Description

Twig, base of inflorescence and inside of stipule shortly evenly pale buff pubescent, base of petiole caducously so; Leaves 12-30 by 9-20 cm, usually large, ± broadly elliptic, coriaceous but undulate; Stipule to 5 by 2 cm, oblong, obtuse, concave. Flowers unknown.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present, Bulungan present, E. Sabah present, Tidung present, W. Sarawak present
Malesia: Borneo (W. Sarawak, E. Sabah, Tidung and Bulungan).

Notes

Apparently a segregate from D. kunstleri; it may have arisen more than once from the parental species.
