Description

Large unbuttressed tree. Twigs, leaf buds, midrib above, petioles, inflorescences, flower calyx and petals outside densely persistently evenly pale golden-brown pubescent, leaf beneath and fruit calyx sparsely somewhat caducously so. Leaves 5.5-17 by 2.8-7 cm, ovate or elliptic, usually small, coriaceous; Inflorescence to 7 cm long, singly branched or unbranched, bearing to 7 distichous flowers. Stamens 18-20, shorter than style at anthesis;

Distribution

Andamans present, Asia-Tropical: Cambodia (Cambodia present); Malaya present; Thailand (Thailand present), Burma present, Chittagong present, Cochinchina present, Negri Sembilan northwards present
Andamans, Chittagong, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Cochinchina, and in Malesia: Malaya (from Negri Sembilan northwards).

Notes

Allied to D. glandulosus Thw. of Ceylon.
