Elaphoglossum gorgoneum
Content
Notes
The specimen described and figured as A. gorgoneum by Blume (,) is E. angustatum (Schrad.) Hieron. of South Africa. Blume's specimen (L) was presumably collected at the Cape by someone travelling to Java, and later mixed with others collected in Java (other examples of this are cited by ).
Blume's specimen was subsequently re-named Acrostichum conforme var. javanicum by Mettenius (). The references to E. gorgoneum by v.A.v.R. (Handb. 712, Suppl. 423) are based partly on Blume, partly on E. pellucido-marginatum Christ.
