Description
Perennial with very short rhizome.
Leaves as long as or longer than the stems, channelled at the base, otherwise flat, flaccid, with 3 prominent nerves, rather abruptly acuminate, light green beneath, grassgreen above, 5-10(-20)mm wide;
Inflorescence decompound or supradecompound, diffuse, usually lax, up to 30 cm across.

Asia-Tropical: India present, Farther India present, Lesser Sunda Is absent, S. China present, Solomon Islands present, Southern America: Argentina Northeast (Formosa present)
India, Farther India, S. China, Formosa, Solomon Islands; almost throughout Malesia (not known from the Lesser Sunda Is.).
