Machaerina maingayi

Description

Leaves crowded at the base (sometimes a single cauline leaf present), coriaceous, equitant, ensiform, gradually narrowed from the base and shortly acuminate, smooth, 10-20 mm wide. Stamens 3; Panicle erect, oblong, rather narrow, interrupted, consisting of several distant fascicles of branches, 25-50 cm long.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present), Kelantan present, Malacca present, Pahang present, Perak present, Tonkin present
Tonkin (D'ALLEIZETTE in L), in Malesia: Malay Peninsula (Perak, Kelantan, Pahang, Malacca).

Notes

Well-developed perigones are very rare in the genus. Besides in M. maingayi they are only found in a few W. Indian species.
