Description

Tree up to 12 m tall. internal hairs sparse, yellowish or whitish. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 0.5-1.7 cm long, sparsely sericeous, often only at the base or on the keel, or only ciliolate on the margin, caducous or subpersistent.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present
Malesia: New Guinea.

Morphology

This species resembles F. subcuneata in the subcordate to emarginate base of the lamina, but can be distinguished by the whitish long appressed hairs intermixed with very short hairs on the midrib beneath and on the petiole and the sparsely hairy to subglabrous, relatively small stipules.
