Description

Small shrub, ¾-l¼ m, or treelet to 4 m. Leaves acuminate with rounded to cordate base and glandular denticulate to dentate margin, elliptic to ovate, 5-14 by 2½-5½ cm; Flowers in a reduced spike of at most 2 cm, usually only 1 (subterminal) flower left, sometimes another flower present in bud, axis glabrous. Stamens 80 to more than 150. Ovary glabrous, 2-3 mm high; Fruit obliquely ovoid to ellipsoid to spindle-shaped, 17-22 by 8-10 mm. Seed 1, filling the whole stone, with the embryo straight or slightly curved.
