Symplocos obovatifolia

Description

Leaves glabrous, rounded or shortly acuminate with cuneate, attenuate base and entire or glandular denticulate apex, obovate, 7½ -11 by 3½ -6 cm; Flowers in a fascicle or short spike to 1 ½ cm, axis glabrous. Fruit (obliquely) ellipsoid, c. 11 by 5 mm, the persistent calyx not included; Seed 1 in each cell, straight with straight embryo.
