Quercus gaharuensis

Description

Tree, 10-30 m, 0.3-1 m ø; Branchlets densely stellate-tomentose, glabrescent, lenticellate; Leaves thin-coriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate or elliptic-oblong, 5-23 by 2-9 cm, entire or remotely serrulate in the apical part, base attenuate-acute or rounded, slightly asymmetrical, top rounded or bluntly acute; Stipules linear-acute, c. 5 by 1 mm. Fruit ovoid-conical, 2-3 by 2 cm, top acute or rounded, convex at base.

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Sabah present, Sarawak present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), East Coast Res present, P. Penang present, Perak present, SE. of Padang present
Malesia: Sumatra (East Coast Res. and SE. of Padang), Malay Peninsula (Perak, P. Penang), Borneo (Sarawak and adjoining Sipitang in Sabah).
