Kibara latifolia

Description

Shrub 1.5 m high, glabrous, with the branches prominently dilated at the nodes. Leaves broadly ovate to subrotund, 20-30 by 13-24 cm, charta-ceous to coriaceous, base broadly cuneate to trunc-ate, apex obtuse, entire, principal veins widely spaced, channelled above, prominent below, arched and meeting inside the margin, glabrous; Flowers not seen.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Maluku (Maluku present), Halmahera present, Obi Is present
Malesia: Moluccas (Halmahera&Obi Is.). Two collections.

Notes

Known from only two gatherings, neither with flowers. However, the broad leaves, swollen nodes, and the small infructescences are distinctive.
