Description

Tree (3-)15-20 m high. Bark brownish, fissured. Leaves spaced, spiral, chartaceous, elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, rarely obovate-oblong, 5-8(-18) by 2-3½(-6½) cm, glabrous except sometimes with short, stellate hairs beneath; Petals imbricate, elliptic, 2-2¾ by 1-1½ mm, puberulous outside, with c. 1 longitudinal veins. Stamens c. 2 mm long; Panicles terminal and/or axillary at the upper part of the twigs, 4-11 cm long, puberulous; Ovary subglobose, c. 1½ mm Ø, densely puberulous;
