Description

Tree 21-32 m high and 42-80 cm Ø. Bark light yellowish brown, longitudinally fissured. Leaves spaced, spiral, rigidly coriaceous, rather brittle, obovate to oblanceolate, or elliptic-oblong, 9-38 by 4½-13½ cm (up to 55-100 by 15-27 cm on vegetative branches); Petals imbricate, elliptic, ovate, or ovate-oblong, c. 2 by 1 mm in ♂ (5 by 2¾ mm in ♀), sericeous outside, with c. 4 longitudinal veins. Stamens 3½ mm; Panicles terminal, up to 30(-60) cm long, tomentose; Ovary globose, 3 mm Ø, velutinous;
