Artocarpus reticulatus

Description

Tree up to 30 m tall with short buttresses, evergreen. Leaves distichous; stipules lateral, 0.3-0.5 cm long, brownish appressedly puberulous, caducous. stamen c. 0.5 mm long, anther c. 0.2 mm; fruit ellipsoid, c. 1.2 cm long.

Distribution

Ambon present, Asia-Tropical: Maluku (Maluku present); Sulawesi (Sulawesi present), Ternate present
Celebes, Moluccas (Ternate, Ambon).

Morphology

1This species can be recognised by the sparsely hairy laminas with ± scabrous lower surface and often minutely auriculate base. 2The species resembles some specimens of A. lacucha and many species of subg. Artocarpus in the hardened pyramidate free apices of the perianth.
