Description

all surfaces almost glabrous, minute hairs sometimes present on lower surface of veins and near base of upper surface of costae;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Bismarck Archipelago (Bismarck Archipelago present); New Guinea present
Malesia: New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago.

Morphology

The Kew isotype is a rather immature frond which has a mid-castaneous stipe and rachis and young sori. All other specimens from both Western and Eastern New Guinea, have a very dark stipe and rachis. Young plants have deeply 5-lobed fronds which may sometimes bear a few sori.
