Taxonomy

1This species is closely related to F. disticha subsp. calodictya, being mainly different in larger leaves and figs. It might prove to be just a large-leaved form of this subspecies. 2 Moreover, this species is closely related to F. warburgii from the Philippines. The differences in the venation of these species resemble those between the forms found within F. disticha subsp. calodictya.
