Description
Root-climber.
Branchlets drying brown;
internal hairs sparse and short or absent.
Leaves in lax spirals to distichous;
stipules (0.5-)1-2(-2.5) cm long, sparsely to densely minutely puberulous, only ciliolate, or glabrous, caducous.
Stamens 1 (or 2).
Distribution
Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present); Thailand (Thailand present), Banka present, Lingga present
Thailand and Malesia; in Malesia: Sumatra (incl. Banka and Lingga), Malay Peninsula, Borneo.
Taxonomy
1An uncommon form with the leafy twigs, the petioles and the lower surface of the lamina hairy (recognized as var. villosa) is found in the Malay Peninsula and N Borneo.
2 This species shows affinities to F. allutaceae, F. peninsula, and F. submontana, and more remotely to F. detonsa.
