Description

Tree up to 13 m tall. internal hairs abundant, brownish. Leaves spirally arranged or subopposite; stipules 0.8-1.5 cm long, on the keel brown strigillose, caducous.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical, Northern present
Malesia: Borneo (northern).

Taxonomy

Some features, as the indumentum, the pale lower surface of dried leaves, and the ± revolute leaf margin suggest that this species is closely related to F. treubii. Ficus virescens is clearly distinct in the long petioles and the basically spirally arranged leaves. Moreover, indications that this species could be facultatively flagelliflorous are absent.
