Description

Tree to c. 30 m high; Leaves: Stipules not seen. Flowers l¡ght yellow. Petals lanceolate-oblong, acute, 2.5-4 mm, glabrous-puberulous towards the apex. Stamens 3.5-4 mm, anthers 0.5 mm. Ovary densely hirsute to subglabrous, 2.3 mm, style c. 1.7 mm. Seeds c. 10, glossy red and black, obliquely ob- (ivoid to orbicular in outline, c. 7-8 by 6.5-7 by 4-4.5 mm, dark portion reaching to c. 3 mm down tiie seed surface;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Sumatera (Sumatera present), Bangka present
Malesia: Sumatra (incl. Bangka), Borneo.

Notes

The Sarawak specimen S 26166 from Kuching has an ovary with a few scattered hairs only and the leaflets seem to be more glabrous than those of the Sumatran collections, which have ± hirsute ovaries. Fruiting material from Sarawak unknown.
