Taxonomy
This is a very widespread form but tends to be difficult to separate from ‘novoguineensis’ on the one hand and, on the other, ‘lasiocarpus’ and ‘formicarum’ in its western range, as well as ‘schumannii’ in the east and ‘trichocladus’. Intermediate specimens are cited by Mabberley (l.c. and see p. 315), one of them, between ‘weinlansometimesdii’ and ‘trichocladus’ being the type of Chisocheton biroi Harms.
