Ficus eustephana

Description

Shrub c. 1 m tall. internal hairs abundant. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules semi-amplexicaul, (0.5-)1-1.8 cm long, brown to whitish strigillose, largely on and along the midrib, caducous or subpersistent.

Distribution

north-eastern present
New Guinea (north-eastern).

Taxonomy

This species is closely related to F. complexa, being distinct in the smaller leaves with a rounded base, shorter indumentum, and shorter stipules. It is only known from the type collection, and this might be a specimen of F. complexa in a poor state.
