Description

Tree c. 10 m. Leaves in 3- 5 rows, thinly chartaceous, obovate-oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 13-25 by 4.5-9 cm, base long-attenuate, apex acute-acuminate; Inflorescences (female not seen) behind the leaves, glabrescent, or thinly haired, less than 0.1 mm;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical, N Aceh, Sumatra present
Malesia: Known from only one collection in N Aceh, Sumatra.

Taxonomy

Horsfieldia atjehensis is in many respects closely related to and ± intermediate between H. amygdalina (Wall.) Warb. (from continental SE Asia), H. glabra, H. macrothyrsa, and H. sparsa, but is still markedly distinct from these species (De Wilde, I.e.: 188).
