Nephelium cuspidatum var. eriopetalum


Inflorescences pseudoterminal and more rarely axillary. Sepals 20-40% connate, 1.8-2.5 mm long. Petals absent (or up to 5, reduced). Fruit appendages dense, strap-shaped to sometimes filiform, at base swollen, pyramidal, or broadened, 1-2 cm long, straight or sometimes curled if filiform.


Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Mt Batu present, W Java present
Malesia: Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, Borneo, and W Java (Mt Batu, once collected).


Vegetatively, the present variety strongly resembles N. compressum; for differences see there.
