Description

Trees, sometimes treelets or shrubs, up to 12(-15) m high, dbh up to 20(-30) cm; Leaves (2-)3-7(-l 1)-jugate; Inflorescences sometimes simple, mostly branched; Flowers greenish, whitish or yellowish (brown), c. 5 mm in diam. Sepals 1.5-2.5 by 1-2 mm, outside glabrous or sparsely to sometimes densely hairy, inside subglabrous. Stamens: Ovary ellipsoid, 2-celled, (1.5-)1.8-2 by (1-)1.3-1.5 mm, sparsely hairy, often densely hairy along the sutures, mostly densely scaly; Fruits obovoid to globular, rarely transversely ellipsoid, outside mostly (very) sparsely hairy, often more densely so along the sutures, rarely densely hairy all over, mostly ± densely scaly, inside densely hairy. Seeds with pergamentaceous testa.
