Description

Shrub to tree, up to 23 m high, dbh up to 45 cm; Branchlets sericeous (to hirsute) when young; Leaves 2-5-jugate; Inflorescences in upper leaf axils and pseudoterminal, rather sturdy, sericeous-hirsute, up to 12.3 cm long, with a few up to 3.7 cm long branches; Flowers 4.2-7 mm in diam. Sepals ovate, 1.3-2.3 by 1.2-2 mm, hirsute, green. Petals obovate, white, apex acute; Fruits c. 1.4 by 1.5 cm, smooth, glabrescent, red-brown, stipe low, c. 3.5 mm high, lobes with c. 1 mm broad wings; Seeds obovoid, c. 6 by 4.5 mm.

Notes

Specimens from western New Guinea have leaflets with a somewhat shorter tip and less mucronulate than the other specimens of this species.
