Trees up to 27 m high, dbh up to 1 m, rarely a shrub; Leaves 1-4-jugate or exceptionally reduced to 1 pseudoterminal leaflet, axial parts thin-hairy, mostly early glabrescent; Sepals up to ⅓ connate, 2-3 by 1.5-2.5 mm, inside tomentose.
