Description
Fougères terrestres, à rhizome rampant ou dressé. Rachis à croissance indéfinie, ou frondes dichotomes, à nervures libres. Sporanges sur des lobes étroits, protégés par une fausse indusie , ou sans indusie, à anneau complet, distal, s'ouvrant verticalement . Gamétophyte cordé, symétrique ou non.A

Distribution (General)
Se compose de 4 genres, apparemment assez éloignés: Schizaea, Lygodium, Anemia, Mohria. Les 2 premiers sont pan-tropicaux, le genre Anemia est presque uniquement américain. Mohria est sud-africain et malgache. Un seul genre au Gabon: Lygodium.B
