Taxonomy

The absence of indumentum on various parts suggests that this species is related to F. septica. It is clearly distinct in the very short petiole, the narrowly cordate base of the lamina, and the subpersistent stipules. In its habit, as in the size of the plant and the ± tufted leaves, it resembles the group of species related to F. calcarata.
