Ficus praestans

Description

Tree up to 15 m tall. internal hairs absent or sparse and brownish. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 2-6 cm long, white appressed-puberulous to brown hirtellous to substrigose on the keel, (sub)persistent.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present, New Britain present
Malesia: New Guinea (New Britain).

Taxonomy

This species shows in many features similarities to F. minahassae and F. pungens.
