Description

Tree up to 6(-10) m tall. internal hairs sparse and white or brownish, or absent. Leaves spirally arranged, ± tufted; stipules 1.5-3 cm long, partly brown (sub)hirsute or whitish strigose, (sub)persistent.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Maluku (Maluku present); Sulawesi (Sulawesi present), Halmahera present, Morotai present, Ternate present
Malesia: Moluccas (Morotai, Halmahera, Ternate), Celebes (?).

Morphology

2A sterile collection from C Celebes (Malili) probably represents this species. 1Pleyte 286 from Halmahera differs somewhat from the other collections by the relatively small and narrow laminas.
