Wood

Vessels diffuse, solitary, round to slightly oval, 9-13 (8-14) per sq. mm, diameter 90-130(80-175) μm. Vessel-member length: 1336-1555 (882-1967) μm. Perforations scalariform, 5-9(-12) bars per plate. Inter- vascular pits alternate, round, 5-6μm. Vessel-ray and vessel-parenchy- ma pits similar to the intervascular pits.
Rays in two types, 5-7 per mm, uni-biseriate, up to 1000-1350 μm (= 26-41 cells) high, heterogeneous, composed of upright, square and some procumbent cells; and multiseriate, 10-12(-16) cells wide, over 7500 μm (= over 150 cells) high, often with uniseriate tails, hete- rogeneous, composed of procumbent, some square and a few upright cells. Sheath cells scarce. Rhombic crystals present in (procumbent) ray cells.
Parenchyma apotracheal in short, wavy, tangential bands, one cell wide, and diffuse, and some scanty paratracheal cells. Strands 8-12 cells.
Fibres non-septate, lumen 8-13 μm, walls 8-13 μm. Pits bordered, on radial and tangential walls, 9-12μm in diameter. Length: 2127-2386 (1705-3087) μm. FIV ratio: 1.40-1.79.
