Description

Tree 3-16 m. Leaves thinly coriaceous, elliptic to lanceolate, 6-21 by 1.7-7 cm; Inflorescences: Fruits 1-3 per infructescence, subglobose or obovoid, apex rounded and often short-acuminate, base rounded or attenuate, 1.3-2.1 by 1-1.5 cm, with yellowish brown or rusty mealy hairs 0.2-0.5 mm long;

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Bangka present, Johore present, Kelantan present, Malacca present, Negri Sembilan present, Pahang present, Palembang present, Perak present, Tapanuli present, Trengganu present
Malesia: Sumatra (Tapanuli, Palembang, Bangka), Peninsular Malaysia (Perak, Kelantan, Trengganu, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, Johore).

Morphology

In Sumatra possibly two forms exist, one with larger, the other with smaller male perianth.
