Description

Tree 5-35 m. Leaves membranous or chartaceous; (ovate-)elliptic or lanceolate, 6-20(-27) by 1.5-7 cm, base slightly rounded or cuneate-attenuate, the apex acute or acuminate; Inflorescences: Fruits 1-5 per infructescence, subglobose or broadly obo void, base rounded or contracted into a short stipe (pseudostalk) up to 2 mm, 1.6-2.4 by 1.6-1.8 cm, with hairs either 0.1 mm or 0.5-1 mm long;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Philippines (Philippines present), N & C Sulawesi present
Malesia: Philippines and N & C Sulawesi.

Taxonomy

A variable species, divided into three closely related subspecies, each with a restricted area.
