Description

Shrubs, small trees or lianas. Leaves opposite, those of a pair equal, usually with few secondary veins; Inflorescence a terminal and/or axillary cyme, usually few-flowered; Sepals without colleters inside. Stamens completely included in the corolla tube; Fruit a fleshy berry; Seeds flattened, ellipsoid.
