Description

Trees or shrubs. Leaves opposite; Inflorescence of axillary and/or terminal compound dichasial cymes; Sepals with a row of colleters inside. Stamens free from the style head, completely included in the corolla tube; Fruit of paired stipitate, ovoid berries;

Africa present, Asia present, Asia-Tropical
12 species in Africa and Asia; in Malesia 1 species.

Taxonomy

This account is partly based on the revision by Omino (1996) and examination of the material from Thailand as there is very little material in Malesia.
